Ingredients
  1. 1 + 1/2 cups - flour
  2. 1/2 tsp - salt
  3. 1/2 cup - cold water
  4. 2 Tbs - butter
  5. 1 cup - chopped green onions, including tops
  6. 1 + 1/2 Tbs - Traditional PepperJam
  7. 4 oz. - Smoked gouda
  8. 1 - egg, beaten
  9. Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
  1. Stir flour and salt together.
  2. Stir in cold water to make a firm dough.
  3. Turn onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth.
  4. Wrap in plastic wrap; let rest at least 30 minutes.
  5. Melt butter in a skillet and add green onions. Cook, stirring until soft.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in Traditional PepperJam. Set aside.
  7. Cut cheese into 24 equal pieces.
  8. Divide dough into 24 equal portions.
  9. On a lightly floured board, roll out each portion into a 4 inch round.
  10. Spoon green onion mixture evenly onto dough rounds and top with a piece of cheese.
  11. Brush edges of each dough round with egg; fold in half over filling and press edges with a fork to seal.
  12. In a deep, heavy skillet, heat oil until hot.
  13. Fry pastries, 6 at a time until golden brown.
